I’m over the moon that my Highland Hairmoss Basket has been awarded third prize in the Best Basket 2017 competition held by the Worshipful Company of Basketmakers. What a huge and unexpected honour!

The basket is made of hairmoss (Polytrichum commune), picked in Toscaig on the Applecross peninsula where I live, and plaited to resemble tweed on the outside and Astro Turf on the inside! Stitched with linen thread.
